$136M Film and Fashion at Brooklyn’s Waterfront

A new ‘Made in New York’ campus will highlight the Brooklyn waterfront in a few years. A $136 million redevelopment of the underutilized, city-owned Bush Terminal site in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn will create a hub for garment manufacturing, and film and television production.

“This is going to be a 21st-century working waterfront that keeps our city the capital of film and fashion,” said Deputy Mayor for Housing and Economic Development Alicia Glen. “Today, we’re committing some of our most important real estate assets to support them as well.”

The campus is expected to open in 2020, with 200,000 square feet for garment manufacturing and 100,000 square feet for film and television production, supporting a total of more than 1,500 permanent jobs.
