A $237-million tower is set to rise in San Francisco next to Chase Center, the Warriors basketball arena now underway. The University of San Francisco plans to break ground this June on the 340,000-square-foot academic building on Block 33 in Mission Bay.
The UC Regents approved a final design for three wings: a 12-story tower, a five-story south wing and a three-story north wing with a rooftop garden. The facility will house academic, research and administrative operations, as well as a new Center for Vision Neurosciences. The tower is slated to deliver in summer of 2019.
UCSF is “re-thinking” its space requirements to more closely align with teaching, medical treatment and scientific research methods, as well as more efficiently accommodate future faculty and staff growth.
