The Texas Rangers baseball club has joined forces with Baltimore-based The Cordish Companies to develop Texas Live!, a $4 billion, mixed-use development tying together Globe Life Park and AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. The $250 million first phase will break ground in November, and include a 300-room convention center with a 35,000-square-foot meeting and convention facility. Construction will begin at the end of baseball season, and will deliver in early 2018.
The overall development will focus on additional phases of the project, a new ballpark for the Texas Rangers, and the re-purposing of Globe Life Park. The plan is to preserve the façade of Globe Life Park, possibly developing it into an entertainment or festival site.
Other parts of Texas Live! will include the two-level, 30,000-square-foot Rangers Republic, a dining and entertainment facility and Live! Arena, which will offer a performance stage for concerts, dining and a 100-foot LED screen. Also planned is Arlington Backyard, an outdoor event pavilion seating up to 5,000.
Also coming live, to Houston, is Connect Houston 2016, on Nov. 3. Click here to register.
