Construction will launch shortly on Pearl East, a 67,000-square-foot creative office building in Portland, OR. The six-story building will sit on what is now a parking lot at the corner of Northwest 13th Avenue and Northwest Alisan Street.
Building architect Mackenzie, based in Portland, designed the building to fit well within the 13th Avenue Historic District. According to public records, the property is owned by The Pearl Building LLC, which is registered to Roxy Rapp & Co. Rapp is a former footwear retailer, and founder of Rapp Development, a Palo Alto, CA development company.
“It’s one of the only sites in the historic district that’s not developed yet,” said Dietrich Wieland, associate principal with Mackenzie. “Meeting the historic guidelines is what’s really driven the design of the project.”
