Chinese Developer Plans for 550-Home Community

Orange County has just recorded its lowest supply of homes in six months, but Chinese developer Landsea has plans to change that. With mixed-use projects in Simi Valley, the Bay Area, and a 95 acre project in Lake Forest, Landsea is expanding its development in Orange County.

With a mixture of singly family homes and townhouses, the community will consist of 550 homes across five neighborhoods. The entire development is planned to be completed in four years, but the first homes will go up for sale by the end of next year.

While many Chinese firms have been investing in large-scale projects in the States, Landsea is one who is focused on the single-family-home sector. As China grapples with economic uncertainty, many investors are flocking here to diversify their assets.

Recently moving its headquarters to Irvine, Landsea’s outlook is to prosper in California rather than build and leave.
