$750M Margaritaville Resort Orlando Moves Forward

Encore Capital Management broke ground on the next phase of the $750-million Margaritaville Resort Orlando. The 187-room hotel is now underway at the 300-acre site in Kissimmee, FL, near Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and is slated to deliver in fall 2018.

The Margaritaville hotel is a component of a massive mixed-use development that includes 200,000 square feet of retail and restaurants, vacation homes, and a water park. Construction is already underway on the retail and residential parts, including a Key West-style vacation home and cottage project.

The new hotel is expected to generate upwards of 1,000 jobs, and the resort is being counted on to drive tourism in Osceola County. Tourism, the largest industry in the county with more than 40,000 tourism-supported jobs, creates roughly $5 billion in annual economic impact.
