More Affordable Housing to Come to Austin’s Mueller Development

Construction has begun on 375 new houses at Northeast Austin, TX’s’ Mueller development. The houses will be built in two phases on the east side of Berkman Drive between Zach Scott and Philomena Streets, and will include affordable housing.

Approximately 135 of the homes will be reserved for families earning 80% or less of Austin’s median family income. An additional 38 homes will be geared toward families earning 120% or less of the city’s median family income.
The Mueller development is a 700-acre mixed-use property on the site of the former Robert Mueller Municipal Airport. The airport closed in 1999, and Cattelus Development Group began developing the land in the early 2000s.
