Airbnb has acquired Urbandoor, an online listings marketplace focusing on corporate travel. Deal terms weren’t disclosed; Urbandoor’s employees will join Airbnb.
Founded in 2015, with investors including Greystar, San Francisco-based Urbandoor today includes apartment communities in more than 1,500 cities globally. “Joining the Airbnb family will help us make good on our goals and expand our work with multifamily and corporate housing partners,” said Urbandoor cofounder Erik Eccles.
For Airbnb’s part, adding Urbandoor to the mix will strengthen the Airbnb for Work platform, already used by more than 500,000 companies. “Urbandoor’s strategic relationships with multifamily owners and operators will help us bring magical travel to even more people,” said Airbnb’s Clara Liang.
Greystar chairman Bob Faith said, “Airbnb and the sharing economy are here to stay and we are looking forward to collaborating with Airbnb to find additional ways to create value for our clients and enhance our resident experience.”
