Akerman Relocates to Rising’s CalEdison DTLA

Akerman LLP relocated its Los Angeles office to The CalEdison DTLA to accommodate the firm’s continued growth in the region. The top 100 U.S. law firm is taking nearly 25,000 square feet and an outdoor collaborative team space at Rising Realty Partners’ 270,000-square-foot landmark located at 601 W. 5th Street, on the corner of Fifth Street and Grand Avenue.

The move represents a nearly 80% expansion in office space from the 14,000 square feet Akerman previously occupied at 725 South Figueroa St.

The CalEdison office incorporates classical elements from the original Art Deco design, with modern design concepts reflecting trends among entrepreneurial-minded businesses. Among the new space’s key features are: flexible and efficient offices, collaborative and forward-thinking areas, technology enabled for modern workforce and sustainability (LEED Platinum certified).

JLL’s Matthew Cheezem, Maureen Hawley and Mike McRoskey represented the tenant. Industry Partners’ Carle Pierose and Rob Erikson represented the landlord.
