International grocer Aldi is set to open three stores in Orange County later this month, including Anaheim, Fountain Valley and Buena Park. The openings are part of the next round of 10 stores coming to Southern California. So far, 27 of the planned 45 California store locations have been identified.
The discount grocer says it is pursuing “at least” another dozen locations in Orange County. California Aldi stores will be larger than others, with a wider assortment of items that includes wine and produce.
The German-based chain has family ties to Trader Joe’s, and operates 1,500 stores in the U.S., across 32 states.
