Phoenix-based Alliance Residential Co., broke ground this week on Broadstone Makers Quarter, the first project to move forward in San Diego’s mixed-use Makers Quarter in East Village. The $60 million, 265-unit residential complex, located at 16th Street and Broadway, will include nearly 5,000 square feet of street-front retail space.
The seven-story apartment development is part of the multi-block Makers Quarter neighborhood distinguished by its creative ethos, local artists and makers. Makers Quarter will include one million square feet of office space, approximately 800 units of residential, 175,000 square feet of retail shops and restaurants.
The master developer for the neighborhood is L2HP, a partnership between Lankford & Associates, HP Investors and Hensel Phelps.
