Amazon Building Two Facilities, Creating 2,000 Jobs

Amazon continues to expand its footprint in the Inland Empire, with plans to add two fulfillment centers in Eastvale and Redlands, CA. The new facilities total roughly 1.75 million square feet, and will reportedly create more than 2,000 new full-time jobs.

The 1-million-square-foot Eastvale facility will be developed by Goodman Group, and will open in 2018. It will handle smaller customer items, such as books, electronics and toys.

Prologis is developing the more than 750,000-square-foot Redlands facility which is slated to open by mid-2017. It will handle larger customer items, such as sports equipment, patio furniture and pet food.

Amazon began operating fulfillment centers in California five years ago, which now employ more than 15,000 full-time workers. The online retailer already operates similar centers in Eastvale and Redlands, as well as San Bernardino, Moreno Valley and Rialto.
