Amazon confirmed that it will open a new 700,000-square-foot fulfillment center in Gwinnett County. The facility is expected to create 1,000 jobs.
Seefried Industrial Properties will develop the property, which will be utilized to pack and ship customer orders. Amazon will hire positions in human resources, operations management, safety, security, finance, and information technology to staff the facility.
The new fulfillment center would make Amazon one of Gwinnett County’s largest private employers, along with other large firms like Primerica and Publix. Documents filed with the state suggest Amazon could spend as much as $200 million on the facility.
