The verdict is out: Amazon Prime Day lived up to the hype.
Amazon reported it was the online retailer’s biggest shopping day ever, exceeding last year’s Prime Day by more than 60% worldwide and more than 50% in the U.S.
That activity was good news for the Inland Empire, where Amazon’s fulfillment centers were humming. The company’s operations include warehouses in San Bernardino, Moreno Valley, Redlands and Rialto. Two additional fulfillment centers are under development in San Bernardino and in Eastvale.
Amazon Prime costs $99 to join, which affords members free two-day delivery, in addition to a video streaming service, as well as other perks. Prime Day was started last year to commemorate Amazon’s 20th anniversary.
