Amazon.com Inc. signed a 224,154-square-foot lease to take an entire industrial facility within the 80-acre Pinole Point complex in Richmond, CA. The move is in line with the Seattle-based e-commerce company’s strategy of locating distribution and fulfillment centers near urban populations seeking rapid delivery times.
Prologis Inc. acquired KTR Capital last year and now holds the portion of Pinole Point development where Amazon’s latest expansion occurred. Colliers International’s Greig Lagomarsino and Todd Severson handle leasing at the property.
Amazon’s has three other Bay Area facilities, including one in South San Francisco, another in Newark, and a 1 million-square-foot property it recently agreed to lease in Tracy, CA.
