Amazon plans to expand its Chicago Tech Hub and create 400 new tech jobs in fields including cloud computing, advertising, and business development. To accommodate this job creation, Amazon will expand its space at Tishman Speyer’s Franklin office tower by more than 70,000 square feet.
The Chicago Tech Hub at 227 W. Monroe St. is one of the company’s 18 North American Tech Hubs. Chicago-based Amazon teams currently build and support products and services for Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon Advertising and the company’s transportation and operations units.
“We look forward to doubling our teams in the Windy City, contributing to its diverse economy and hiring local talent to fill exciting roles across Amazon,” said Geoff Nyheim, director Central U.S. AWS sales.
In all, Amazon employs more than 11,000 across Illinois, including workers at its fulfillment centers and retail stores.
Connect Chicago Fall 2019 will take place Oct. 29 in Chicago. For more information, or to register, click here.
