Apartment renters are more satisfied about living in Houston, TX this year than they were last year. Those responding to a survey distributed by Apartment List gave the metro a “B-minus” in overall satisfaction, versus the “D” grade received in 2015.
The survey measures issues such as job availability, safety and cost of living. Respondents overall liked Houston’s career prospects, the level of state and local taxes, and the cost of living. However, they weren’t thrilled with the crime rate, park access, and commute time, giving those categories a “C-minus” grade.
Apartment developers, taking note, are coming up with more pet-friendly amenities, and are building near parks and restaurants.
