Apple is reportedly joining the list of high-profile office tenants considering a move to Hudson Yards. The maker of the iPhone, iPad and iPod is in talks to lease 60,000 square feet at 55 Hudson Yards (pictured), which the Related Companies is developing in partnership with Mitsui Fudosan.
Since 2011, Apple has been an office tenant at 100-104 Fifth Ave. The New York Post reported that the discussions may also entail Apple establishing a large retail presence somewhere within the Hudson Yards complex.
Separately, Crain’s New York Business reported that Debevoise & Plimpton is discussing a multi-floor space at another tower within the complex. The law firm would occupy about 450,000 square feet at 50 Hudson Yards, relocating from the East Side.
If the Debevoise deal pans out, it would represent 50 Hudson Yards’ second tenant. BlackRock signed up for nearly one-third of its 2.9 million square feet in 2017.
