Apple Goes Big in SoMa

Apple keeps expanding its office space in the Bay Area. Now the tech giant has grabbed some office real estate in San Francisco’s SoMa neighborhood.

Apple is in agreements to rent 76,000 square feet at 235 Second St., reportedly. This is one of the firm’s major moves into San Francisco proper. CBS Interactive now takes up much of the building, which was built by Birmingham Development. Cushman & Wakefield was marketing the space.

CBRE said that 2.5 million square feet of office space has been leased by tech companies in San Francisco that want their employees to enjoy living in an urban locale as opposed to the suburbs in the East Bay.
