A bond package will be put before Tyler, TX voters in spring, requesting funds that will, in part, be directed to replace the city’s two high schools. Though the election is months away, the Tyler Independent School District’s Board has already selected the architects that will play a part in the process that will replace or renovate the aging high school buildings.
Corgan Associates, the district’s architectural firm, will partner with Harris Craig Architects to handle replacement or renovation of Robert E. Lee High School, at 411 E. S.E. Loop 323. Stantec and Fitzpatrick Associates will work on plans for John Tyler High School, at 1120 N. Northwest Loop 323.
Tyler ISD Board President Andy Bergfeld said that the architects are working on preliminary plans, not a full build. “We’re getting information, should we call a bond, that gives the full information at their disposal,” he told the Tyler Morning Telegraph.
