“Area of the Arts” Proposed in San Juan Capistrano

LAB Holding LLC has proposed  “Area of the Arts,” a conceptual plan to transform 16 acres of open space in San Juan Capistrano into a cultural destination. The developer is also the visionary behind the innovative Lab and Camp retail concepts in Costa Mesa, as well as the dynamic Anaheim Packing House culinary marketplace.

Shaheen Sadeghi says he envisions an outdoor venue for festivals and cultural events, surrounded by guitar makers, leather workers, potters, culinary artisans, a brewery, coffee roaster, and glass blowers.

San Juan Capistrano Redevelopment Agency’s successor agency seeks a buyer for the site, though the city council elected not to enter into an exclusive 90-day agreement with LAB Holding, opting rather to seek additional ideas from developers before making a decision.
