USC’s Institute for Creative Technology (ICT) in Playa Vista will soon be home to the U.S. Army’s Research Laboratory. The new office space will expand the Army’s existing ties through “Open Campus” with USC, which is a symbiotic relationship for researchers and army personnel in the exchange of information and tech advancement.
ICT’s Playa Vista location is near other tech giants like Microsoft, YouTube, and Yahoo, and will soon be joined by Google.
Army Research Lab Director Thomas Russell says establishing West Coast research teams at USC and ICT will lead to new directions and new perspectives, and will also help the Army meet current and future challenges.
