Ascent Puts Hurricane-Resistant Data Center on Market

Ascent Corp. is marketing its DAL1 data center in Plano, TX, a suburb of Dallas. The St. Louis-headquartered Ascent tapped Cushman & Wakefield to market the 43,000-square-foot property at 1500 Plano Pkwy. near the President George Bush Turnpike (Interstate 190). The 4.3-acre site on which the building sits once held a retail distribution center.

Ascent acquired the property in 2016, on which it completed an engineering and construction overhaul. The EF5-hardened facility can withstand hurricanes and tornadic winds of up to 360 mph. Also part of the facility is 2.7 megawatts of critical power, which is expandable up to 5.4 megawatts.

The current owner is willing to consider selling or leasing the asset. “DAL 1 offers a compelling opportunity for corporate end users, data center operators and cloud providers,” said Cushman & Wakefield’s Alex Smith.
