Taubman Centers, Inc. is embarking on a $500-million reimagination of Beverly Center this month. The Bloomfield Hills, Mich. REIT says the “bright, contemporary” new look is designed to transform every aspect of the iconic fashion destination, and create a “pedestrian-friendly, signature urban” environment.
Italy-based Studio Fuksas architectural vision focuses on making the 886,000-square-foot center more accessible and engaging with the surrounding neighborhood, while improving the sense of arrival as well as parking areas.
Highlights include a continuous ribbon of new skylights, a shimmering, perforated steel façade exterior, and Chef Michael Mina’s THE STREET, a multi-concept gourmet food hall. Beverly Center will be open during construction, which is scheduled to be completed by the 2018 holiday season.
