Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Enters New York

This week, Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices opened its first New York office. Sotheby’s International Realty’s former Senior Vice President, Ellie Johnson, is leading the way.

The brokerage firm currently has five brokers, and is recruiting more. The company has plans to eventually extend into commercial real estate, as well. Situated at 590 Madison Avenue on the 37th floor, HomeServices already has exclusive listings.

Success in the big city hasn’t been easy for many brokerage firms trying to make it, but Johnson says, ““When you mention Berkshire Hathaway, the first thing people think of is Warren Buffett.” She goes on to say that the company thrives on competition.
