Butler Snow LLP entered into a long-term agreement to lease 21,000 square feet at Austin’s SXSW Center. The law firm will take down the entire 10th floor at 1400 Lavaca St.; the space will include a collaboration area, six conference rooms and a 5,000-square-foot client-hosting area. Butler Snow will move into the new space from its current location at 515 Congress Ave., in early 2020.

The 13-story center, developed by the company that produces the annual SXSW Conference and Festival, opened in June 2019. The top two floors contain administration offices for SXSW, while the remainder is being leased to other companies. The curvy, column-free structure was designed by Pei Cobb Freed; Gensler was the architect of record. In addition to Butler Snow, WeWork leased 65,000 square feet in the center.

It’s time to register for this year’s Connect Texas Multifamily Conference on Aug. 15! For information and to register, click here.
