Anyone stuck in traffic on Texas roadways these days might not be surprised to learn that the Lone Star State took top honors in numeric population growth from 2016-2017, according to data released by the U.S. Census Bureau.
The Texas population increased by 399,734. Florida came in second, adding 327,811. Furthermore, the Census Bureau ranked Texas the second-most populous state, at 28.3 million residents, behind California, which boasted 39.5 million.
