Chino Hills’ First MXU Projects Move Forward

Two mixed-use projects are moving forward in Chino Hills, CA that are expected to deliver pedestrian-friendly, high-density developments. The 30-acre Santa Barbara project by Upland, CA-based Lewis Group of Companies and an adjacent smaller project on Soquel Canyon Pkwy. by Newport Beach, CA-based Trumark Homes are approved and slated to open in 2017.

Lewis’ development includes 324 rental units and 16,000 square feet of restaurant and retail. Trumark’s project blends a mix of 42 attached townhomes, 68 smaller lot single-family homes and 39 conventional-sized homes.

The city is working to add a mix of uses that appeal to Millennials who prefer walkable communities. The projects will also help alleviate Chino Hills’ residential shortage and reduce traffic.
