The NYC Ferry will stop at the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s Dock 72 development beginning in May. Part of NYC Ferry’s Astoria route between Queens and Manhattan, the new location will connect thousands of current and future workers and visitors at the Navy Yard with the citywide ferry system.
“This new NYC Ferry stop at Dock 72 is a reminder of the benefits of strong public-private partnerships that are creating, sustaining and enhancing thousands of jobs for New Yorkers at the Navy Yard,” said John Powers of Boston Properties, which is developing Dock 72 with Rudin Development.
“Transit connectivity plays a crucial role in smart development and economic growth, as evidenced by the resounding success of the ferry system across the city,” Powers continued.
The route will feature 10-minute direct service between the Navy Yard and 34th Street and Wall Street in Manhattan. Dock 72 is slated to open this spring.
