The City of Claremont, CA wants to create a new mixed-use planning area to encourage development of projects similar to what’s found in Claremont Village. The city secured a $500,000 grant from the LA County MTA to formulate the Indian Hill Corridor Specific Plan.
The 17-acre project includes 34 properties. The 5.5-acre former Richard Hibbard Auto Center is the largest within the project area, that also includes residences and vacant land.
The public input process is expected to start in the fall, once a consultant is engaged and initiates development of the plan. The city envisions working with developers and property owners in the planning area, to come up with projects that improve an area of the city north of Claremont Village.
