WeWork is introducing WeLive, a new model featuring flexible living spaces that come with furniture, bedding and kitchenware, plus an array of perks. The co-working startup is bringing a residential version to Lower Manhattan in New York and Arlington in Washington, D.C.
Spaces, which range from studios to four-bedroom configurations for up to eight people, can be split between roommates. There’s freedom to rent month-to-month, with rents that start at $1,375 per month for a studio with two beds.
WeWork’s WeLive makes it easy to move to a new city, which should attract “start-up” employees or recent college graduates. The spaces also facilitate connections through common areas such as a communal chef’s kitchen or yoga studio, as well as Happy Hour events and Karaoke sessions.
