Companies Consider Creating Cannabis Growing & Research Arm

San Antonio-based Alamo CBD LLC and Indoor Harvest Co. of Houston are considering a transaction that would merge the companies. Additionally, the deal would spin off Indoor Harvest’s vertical farming operations, leaving the remaining company responsible for growing cannabis for medical research and products. If all goes according to plan, the deal will effectively complete Indoor Harvest’s strategy to separate its cannabis- and produce-related operations, according to Indoor Harvest’s John Choo.

Alamo CBD also signed an agreement with Vyripharm Enterprises LLC, a Houston biopharmaceutical company, to form a joint venture for pharmaceutical cannabinoids research. Alamo would use Indoor Harvest’s platform to provide pure medical cannabis product to the joint venture, with the goal of treating epilepsy or PTSD. Alamo also plans to build a 17,500-squre-foot cannabidiol pharmaceutical production facility in La Vernia, TX, southeast of San Antonio. The company is currently seeking the necessary state and federal licenses to move forward on the project.
