Energy giant ConocoPhillips has put the entire Energy Center 4 building up for sublease. The 596,000-square-foot, 22-story Energy Center 4, on Houston’s west side, had been preleased to ConocoPhillips, but never occupied.
Construction began on Energy Center 4 in December 2013 and was completed by the end of 2015. ConocoPhillips was supposed to move in during spring 2016. “The decision to market the building for sublease aligns with the company’s focus on sustaining structural cost reductions and continued efforts to capture efficiencies,” ConocoPhillips said in a statement. Meanwhile, ConocoPhillips fully occupies the neighboring 20-story, 548,00-square-foot Energy Center 3.
The complex also includes the speculative Energy Center 5, an 18-story, 525,000-square-foot, Class A building, which broke ground in August 2014. The Energy Center complex is on North Eldridge Parkway, near Interstate 10.
