Construction Begins on 2,000-Acre La Cima MPC

Construction has begun on La Cima, a 2,000-acre master-planned community in southwest San Marcos, TX. Developer Eric Willis said the project’s first home sites will go on sale by January 2018, with the first model homes completed by June 2018. Situated near Wonder World Drive and Old Rural Route (RR) 12, the development will offer 2,000 living units, a swimming pool, fitness center, walking trails and more than 800 acres of parks and open spaces upon build-out.

La Cima will be completed within the next 10-12 years, and is subject to strict environmental regulations, due to its location within the Edwards Aquifer recharge zone. The development is being limited to no more than 20% of impervious cover that doesn’t permit water to filter back into the ground.

The development is one of several master-planned communities under development in San Marcos, south of Austin.
