SL Green broke ground on the 1,401-foot-tall, 1.7-million-square-foot, One Vanderbilt Avenue. The office skyscraper will have the distinction of being Manhattan’s second tallest building. The development is adjacent to the Grand Central Terminal, with $220 million in upgrades as part of the overall building plan.
One Vanderbilt will encompass an entire city block, bounded by Madison and Vanderbilt Avenues to the west and east, and East 43rd and East 42nd Streets to the north and south. SL Green secured TD Bank as the anchor tenant, which will occupy approximately 200,000 square feet. Construction is expected to be completed in 2020.
