Cushman & Wakefield’s New Jersey asset services term has been assigned property management at the National Newark Building, also known as 744 Broad St. The 592,000-square-foot office property is the tallest building in Newark, the state’s largest city.
The Cushman & Wakefield team, headed by Managing Director Michael Nevins, is working with the property’s current ownership, Emerita USA, which aims to improve efficiency and operation of the historic tower as part of its reintroduction and rebranding.
“We believe that Newark is on the cusp of an economic revival, and anticipate that our building will contribute positively to the growth and development of the city,” said Emerita VP Joseph Dabbah.
A Cushman & Wakefield capital markets team arranged the 2013 sale of 744 Broad to Emerita. “Our investment sales group has maintained a strong relationship with this client, leading to the introduction and ultimate engagement of our group,” said Nevins.
