Data Foundry announced an expansion of its Houston 2 Data Center, a 60-megawatt, master-planned data center in the Greenspoint submarket. Once the 27,000-square-foot expansion is completed in Q4 2019, the campus at 660 Greens Pkwy. just north of downtown Houston, will total 377,000 square feet. The expansion is taking place to accommodate demand from Houston’s healthcare, energy and manufacturing sectors.
The Greenspoint data center, which opened in May 2018, is elevated above the 500-year floodplain, allowing continued operations during hurricanes or other severe storms. The campus also offers office space, lockers, showers and washer and dryer, break room and kitchen. The amenities are available for Data Foundry employees and tenant employees required to remain at the center during storms.
Austin-based Data Foundry also owns and operates the Houston 1 Data Center, an 8,000-square-foot facility in the Marathon Oil Tower, 5555 San Felipe St. in the CBD.
