A deal inked by biotechnology startup Decibel Therapeutics has pushed the 232,000-square-foot Van Ness spec building in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood to full occupancy. Developer Samuels & Associates completed the office building at 1325 Boylston St. a year ago.
Decibel Therapeutics, which launched in October 2015, took down 32,000 square feet for its headquarters. The company is developing medicine and therapies to treat hearing disorders, and will relocate from its current space at 215 First St. in Cambridge, MA to the Fenway space in early 2017.
In addition to office space, the Van Ness building has 174 residential units in a second tower. Both office and residential space rest on a 165,000-square-foot retail component, anchored by Target. CBRE is the office space broker.
