Developers Deal With Water Issues

Two State Senate bills are more relevant with the ongoing California drought. They require developers to prove that developments with 500 or more units can maintain a 20-year water supply.

It just doesn’t apply to multifamily, though. One delayed project as a result was a 1.8-million-square-foot Skecher’s distribution center in Moreno Valley. Developer Highland Fairview agreed to reduce water use at a 2,700-home housing complex it is constructing.

Are you seeing the drought impact construction on any projects you are involved with?
