Downtown ABI, the Abilene Chamber of Commerce Downtown Initiative, launched an interactive map to track the $100-million-plus in real estate development projects taking place in the CBD. The West Texas city is experiencing an uptick in development activity, spearheaded by a $66 million, 206-room convention center hotel, anticipated to open by early 2022.
Project stages represented include conceptual, pre-development and construction. Also on the map are buildings for sale or lease. “Opportunities exist for developers, investors, retailers and corporate employers to jump in, up and down the development spectrum,” said Downtown ABI’s Steve Dieterichs. He added that deal participation availability ranges from sponsors, to limited partners, to Qualified Opportunity Funds. Downtown’s SoDA District is a Qualified Opportunity Zone.
