DPR’s 20K-SF Quest for Sustainability

DPR Construction took down 20,000 square feet at 11109 Sunset Hills Rd. in Reston, VA. The construction company opted to relocate to the building in an attempt to facilitate its sustainability goals. The specific goals in question include pursuit of a LEED v4 Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, and Net-Zero Energy (NZE) certification from the International Living Future Institute. Penzance Cos. is the landlord.

Transwestern’s Fielding Muir represented the tenant in facilitating the 10-year agreement. “Current market conditions presented an opportunity for DPR to better position itself for future growth, and offer an attractive workplace for its employees,” Muir said.

The office is eligible for Net-Zero Energy certification after a year of occupancy, and would be one of the first commercial private-sector NZE projects in the Washington DC area.
