Farm Stores, a chain of drive-through grocery stores headquartered in Florida, plans to open its first out-of-state store in the Houston metro. The company is negotiating for space in Katy, TX, with plans to be open by 1Q 2017. The store will be at Greenhouse and Morton Roads.
Most Farm Store locations measure between 600 to 650 square feet, and sell grocery items including breads, prepared meals, milk, diapers, coffee, ice cream and cleaning supplies. The retailer is planning expansion through franchising.
The company has more than 40 stores in Florida, and wants to open a total of three Houston-area stores next year. The average wait time at a Farm Stores drive-through is two minutes, with each store serving approximately 1,500 rooftops in a given area.
