Elion Unveils Plan for Midwest’s Largest Rail-Served Logistics Park

Elion Partners is rebranding the former RidgePort Logistics Center in Wilmington, IL to Elion Logistics Park 55 (ELP). The investment firm is spending a total of $2 billion to create what it says will be the largest rail-served industrial mixed-use logistics park in the Midwest.

Three years ago, Elion began assembling land for the project, which then had only two tenants onsite. At full buildout, ELP 55 will accommodate up to 30 million square feet, of which 6.3 million square feet of multi-tenant and build-to-suit space already exists.

CBRE’s Jeff Kapcheck and Jason Lev have been hired to lease ELP 55, approximately 40 miles southwest of Chicago.

“For firms that need access to intermodal, ELP 55 is a top contender,” said Lev. “The proximity to a huge population base makes this location ideal for distribution, e-commerce and cold-storage providers that need to reach consumers rapidly.”
