The Boring Co., owned by Elon Musk, is expanding its roots to Pflugerville, Community Impacted reported, citing a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The company registered with the TDLR on Dec. 7 for the industrial building at 15709 Impact Way, Bldg 2, Ste. B, Pflugerville. The estimated cost to renovate the 40,000-square-foot building is estimated to be around $130,000.
Musk has big plans for expansions in Texas after he announced over the summer that Tesla will build its next manufacturing plant in Travis County, east of Austin. The Tesla “gigafactory” is expected to bring at least 5,000 new jobs to the region.
The Boring Co. was founded by Musk in 2016 to build tunnels. On Nov. 9, The Boring Co. tweeted that “’Austin Chalk’ is geologically one of best soils for tunneling,” with a link to job postings for Austin on its website.
