Environmental Review Begins for $270M Waterside Hotels

A proposed two-hotel project submitted by Encinitas-based The Robert Green Company, in partnership with Fifth Avenue Landing LLC, is under environmental review by the Port of San Diego.

The planned $270-million hotel project consists of an 831-room convention center hotel, and a 565-bed shared lodging hotel. The development site is located between the Convention Center and San Diego Bay, and would expand into the marina, adding new public open space and viewing plazas.

Fifth Avenue Landing holds a ground lease for six acres, adjacent to the Convention Center. Approvals are required by the port district and California Coastal Commission. The project was designed by architecture firm Gensler.
