Fiesta Won’t Sell, Hires Richard Stockinger

A little more than four months after it announced it would entertain investment offers, Fiesta Restaurant Group Inc., headquartered in Addison, TX, determined it was no longer on the market. To that end, the parent company of Pollo Tropica and Taco Cabana restaurants hired Richard Stockinger as CEO.

Stockinger comes to the current position from his role as consultant with private equity firm Bruckmann, Rosser, Sherrill & Co. and Not Your Average Joes, a private restaurant company of which he is a member of the Board of Directors. Before that, he was president and CEO of Benihana Inc. He also served in executive positions at the Patina Restaurant Group LLC, and its predecessor, Restaurant Associates Inc.

“Rich is a respected, results-driven industry veteran who understands the value of our Pollo Tropical and Taco Cabana brands and has the skills and experience necessary to be a strong and effective leader in advancing our strategic initiatives at this critical juncture,” said Fiesta’s board chair, Stacey Rauch.
