Spear Street Capital and Transwestern Development Co. have acquired close to 17 acres at 3120 Buffalo Speedway in the Greenway submarket of Houston, TX. The property had been home to ExxonMobil’s Upstream Research Campus since the 1950s. It was sold because of ExxonMobil’s relocation to new headquarters in Spring, TX.

Jones Lang LaSalle’s team of Ronnie Deyo, Rudy Hubbard and Kevin McConn marketed the asset and brokered the transaction.

Specific details on the acquisition and future of the campus are sketchy, but according to local media sources, the property includes a 384,000-square-foot building, a 98,000-square-foot training center, along with 13 auxiliary buildings and a garage. The site could accommodate up to three million square feet of office, retail or hotel space.
