A 4,200-square-foot aluminum building that once housed a Pilgrim’s Pride Feed Store in downtown Pittsburg, TX is being converted into a brew pub that owners hope will help kick-start the local economy. Byron and Kristin Aldredge acquired the property on Compress Street, and are working toward opening the Pittsburg Feed and Seed Brew Pub. Both the Aldredges and the city of Pittsburg in East Texas hope the new development will attract more businesses, including breweries.
Part of the building is more than 100 years old, and according to Byron Aldredge, it is one of the last aluminum buildings in the United States. In addition to offering drinks, the renovation will include creating a 3,000-square-foot dance hall that can be rented for special events. Depending on financing, the Aldredges hope to be up and running by the end of the year.
