San Diego-based Casey Brown Company is nearing completion on the initial redevelopment phase of Ampersand. The former home of the San Diego Union-Tribune is being transformed into a modern, and highly amenitized work campus in San Diego’s Mission Valley.

The 330,000-square-foot facility at 350 Camino de la Reina features two separate buildings. The industrial loft-style design will feature exposed brick, concrete pillars, 13-foot ceilings and over-sized windows, as well as nine patios and 64,000 square feet of outdoor collaborative space.

The $35-million repositioning project,  planned for a Q3 2017 completion, encompasses a five-story office tower, where journalists once published the newspaper. An adjacent three-story building, which housed printing presses, is expected to deliver in Q1 2018.

CBRE’s Matt Carlson, Jeff Oesterblad and Ryan Grant handle leasing at the property.
