Former Starbucks Executive Takes Stater Bros. Real Estate Helm

San Bernardino-based Stater Bros. Markets has a new leader for its real estate department. Michael Reed, a former real estate store development manager with Starbucks, was promoted to vice president of real estate at the grocery company.

Reed joined Stater Bros. in 2014 as senior director of real estate, and has more than 16 years of industry experience. He will report to Pete Van Helden, president and CEO of Stater Bros. Markets.

Stater Bros. was founded in 1936 in Yucaipa, and is the largest privately owned supermarket chain in Southern California. The retailer currently operates 168 supermarkets, employs more than 18,000, and has annual sales of nearly $4 billion.
